1983; "Operation Bear Hunt", (South Korea), PFC Harmon supported 'B' Co. 1st
Track Vehicle Battalion, 3rd Marine Division near the DMZ after the USSR shot down
South Korean Airline Flight # 007 (KAL 007) on September 1, 1983.
1991; "Operation Desert Storm", (Japan 1989-1991), Sergeant Harmon was not
deployed to the Middle East.
2002; " Exercise Ulchi-Focus Lens", (South Korea), Gunnery Sergeant Harmon
supported III MEF (3rd Marine Expeditionary Force), G-6 (communications section)
at Camp Mu Juk, Pusan, South Korea.
2003; "Operation Iraqi Freedom", (Kuwait / Iraq), Gunnery Sergeant Harmon
supported S-6 (communications section), 1st Battalion 11th Marine Artillery
Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I MEF. 'G' Battery, 7th Regiment Royal Horse
Artillery was attached to 1st Bn. 11th Marines up to Al-Nasiriyah, Iraq. 1st Bn.
11th Marines were in Direct Support Mission for RCT-1 (Regimental Combat Team-1,
1st Marine Regiment along with 3/1, 1/4 and 2/23).
November 1, 2005; Retired as a Gunnery Sergeant after 23 years of
United States Naval Service.
